TIMELINE
     
1920 Paul H. Murray establishes Murray Packing Company with a crew of 10 butchers processing 12 cattle per day.
     
1973   Murray Packing becomes Murco Foods.
     
1999   Murco Foods purchased by Packerland Packing Company.
     
2001   With the purchase of Packerland Packing by Smithfield Foods, Inc., Murco Foods becomes part of the Smithfield Beef Group.
     
2003   Murco Foods is renamed Packerland Packing Plainwell Inc.
     
2007   Packerland Packing Plainwell Inc., is renamed Smithfield Beef Group – Plainwell.
